WEEKLY BULLETIN
Message from the Headteacher
What an incredibly challenging week the weather has presented for us all. I hope everyone has managed to cope with the exceptionally high temperatures and has stayed as comfortable as possible.
Thank you to everyone for adapting so brilliantly to the changes we have needed to make to keep our school community safe and well. Whether it has been making the most of shaded areas, ensuring everyone stayed hydrated or adjusting our daily routines, your support and cooperation have been greatly appreciated.
This week, we were delighted to welcome Year 5 pupils from our Harrogate Hub primary schools for our “Hello High School” day. The event was designed to give the children a taste of secondary school life, introduce them to some of our staff and help ease any worries they may have about the forthcoming transition to high school. We all remember how exciting, but also a little daunting, that move can be. Throughout the day, the pupils took part in a range of engaging activities, explored our school and met teachers from a variety of subject areas. It was wonderful to see and hear about their enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence grow as the sessions progressed.
The pupils clearly had a great time, and we hope they left feeling excited and much more confident about the next stage of their educational journey. We hope to welcome many of them back as future students!
Elsewhere this week, our Year 10 students enjoyed a visit to Harrogate College, gaining valuable insight into post-16 opportunities, our Sports Leaders have helped at Harrogate Hub Sports Days and in addition to this, some of our students are kindly volunteering at the Willowtree PTA Summer Fair after school today - well done to them! And finally, our Year 11s had their prom last night. We hope they all enjoyed themselves and we look forward to seeing them again on results day.
Thank you to all the staff who organised and supported these events, your commitment provides our students with such valuable experiences beyond the classroom.
As we head into the weekend, I hope you all have the opportunity to rest, keep cool and enjoy some quality time with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for another exciting, and very busy week ahead.
