Message from the Headteacher

Today marks a special day in our school calendar: Sports Day. It’s always a highlight of the year, bringing students and staff together in the spirit of teamwork, competition, and fun. A huge thank you goes to the PE department for all their hard work in organising this fantastic event.

Yesterday, we stepped off our regular timetable for a CARES Community Day, themed around “Equality.” Students engaged in a range of activities exploring the importance of equality, inclusion and discussing the event of Holi. Holi, also known as the "Festival of Colours," is a Hindu festival celebrating spring, love, and the triumph of good over evil. Our day ended on a high note for those students who participated in our very own festival of colour-  a fun and energetic colour run! We are very grateful to the PTA for their invaluable support in making this colourful, fundraising event possible.

Earlier this week, our GCSE Geography students attended the Youth Climate Summit at Leeds Beckett University. They had the chance to question climate commissioners and participate in interactive workshops, deepening their understanding of environmental issues and sustainability. We extend our thanks to Northern Rail for generously donating travel for this trip, enabling our students to take part in such an enriching experience.

It’s been a week filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate our whole school community — and it’s been wonderful.

Have a lovely weekend.
