Message from the Headteacher
Well done to our Year 11 students who completed their mock Art practical exam this week. Mrs Stewart and Mrs Ainsley are delighted with the way students paced themselves, demonstrated resilience, and showed real commitment to their work.
Our Year 11 face-to-face Parents’ Evening took place this week. Teachers were pleased to meet families and discuss students’ progress and the ongoing support they need as they move toward their final GCSE exams.
Our Year 7 students enjoyed a festive trip to the pantomime (oh yes they did!). This annual highlight kindly arranged by Mrs Hastings always brings plenty of laughter and has brought festive excitement for those year 7 students as we approach the end of term.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Winter Production yesterday evening. Our talented students delivered wonderful performances, showcasing musical skill, confidence, and teamwork. We are grateful to Mr Parnell and Mr Frampton for all their work in preparing for this event. It was a lovely way to celebrate the season and this term.
Today, students took part in a whole-school Community Day focused on the CARES value theme of "Respect", with a particular emphasis on celebrating our community connection with Harrogate Train Station and recognising the 200th anniversary of train travel.
We were very pleased to welcome Richard Isaacs, Regional Community & Sustainability Manager from Northern Rail, who joined us during the morning to observe the students’ projects and discussions.
Richard commented on how inspiring it was to see students generate thoughtful ideas to enhance Harrogate Station, speaking with genuine passion about community and respect. He emphasised that their voices are valued and that Northern Rail is excited to see these ideas progress and grow.
As we head into our final week of term, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Mr Gill
Head of Academy
